Baptist World Aid Australia's East Africa Famine Appeal

The Horn of Africa has once again been struck by one of the most severe droughts since the 1950s, causing widespread hunger and endangering lives in countries including Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia. More than 11 million people are now affected and UNICEF estimates that 2 million of these are children, who are malnourished and in need or urgent assistance.

BWAA has been monitoring the situation carefully and, as the severity of the conditions has increased, BWAA have launched the emergency East Africa Famine Appeal. PHBC is supporting their efforts.

Internet accountability

Regulars from our church are involved in networks to promote godliness in our internet use. Partnerships of two to three people help one another stay clear of sexually explicit content that devalues sex as God intended.

We are using the X3Watch software and it is available free of charge.

From the X3Watch website:

 

"X3Watch is an accountability software program helping with online integrity. Whenever you browse the Internet and access a site, which may contain questionable material, the program will record the site name, time, and date the site was visited. A person of your choice (an accountability partner) will receive an email containing all possible questionable sites you may have visited within the month. This information is meant to encourage open and honest conversation between friends and help us all be more accountable.
